Perch Base
Prescott Frontier Days® Parade
Perch Base took the USS Phoenix float up to Prescott, Arizona on July 2nd, 2022, for the
Prescott Frontier Days® Parade. The parade had many entries and a very large crowd to watch the parade.
We were in the parade with Gudgeon Base. Tucson Base also was there with
their USS Tucson (SSN-770) submarine float. Members and family rode or walked in the parade from the 3 bases!
The 2022 Parade Theme was "Celebrating 50 Years of Junior Bonner."
After the parade, we had a BBQ lunch at Sherry and Tom Warner's home in Prescott Valley.
It is not uncommon that when people learn that we are submariners, they tip their hats and say, "I couldn't do what you did." But as submariners, we tip our hats to these guys, perhaps the most important parade entry:

Several of our vehicles carried memorials to the Granite Mountain Hot Shots and also Yavapai Sheriff Deputy Sergeant Richard "R-Lo" Lopez, killed in the line of duty several days earlier: EOW (End of Watch) June 28, 2022.

Sorry, but we have no pictures of the BBQ lunch this year. Thanks to Tom & Sherry Warner for inviting us to join them at the BBQ.
