Perch Base took the USS Phoenix float to the Daisy Mountain Veterans Day Parade in Anthem, Arizona, on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
After the parade, Davy Jones, his daughter Julie Jenson and Dan Marks went to the Rock Springs Cafe for lunch and pie. Much to our surprise and pleasure, someone in the Cafe picked up our tab! We don't know who to thank, but it was an unexpected and appreciated gesture for Veterans Day.

The Anthem Veterans Memorial is designed so that the apertures line up at 11:11:11 AM on November 11 of every year. I have never seen it when it is aligned because I am always participating in the parade at the same time. Thanks to Perch Base Life Member John Mosher, he caught this photo at just the right time at the last parade in 2019! Read more about the Anthem Veterans Memorial at this LINK.

Prior to the parade, the members of the Musical Theatre of Anthem came over to "serenade" us with a rendition of Anchors Aweigh in appreciation of our service on Veterans Day.

The Daisy Mountain / Anthem Veterans Day Parade started with a jump by The Frog-X Parachute Team on the Anthem Soccer Fields. You will likely need to click on the photo and enlarge it to see them.

You can't have a parade without horses! Several of the Submarine Veterans (Jerry Allston, Dan Marks & Carl Miner) walked the parade route and had to watch our step!

And then the Parade began. The Parade watchers were enthusiastic and appreciative.

The remainder of theses photos are some of the other entries in the parade, in no particular order:
