Harold H. Weber, ETC(SS) (ret)

Former Perch Base Member Harold Weber, ETC(SS) departed on Eternal Patrol on August 24, 2019.
Our condolences to his sisters, Jan Harding and Beverly Henson, and the rest of the family.
Harold enlisted in 1973 and was assigned to his qual boat, the USS Bluefish (SSN-675) from 1973 to 1979.
Harold then rode the USS Seawolf (SSN-575) from 1983 to 1985. He was promoted to Chief while assigned aboard the Seawolf.
He was assigned to the Sub Tender USS Orion (AS-18) from 1985 to 1988 and finally to the USS Parche (SSN-683) from 1988 to 1991
and retired in 1993.
Harold Weber was a member of Perch Base in 2016.

A military service was held at the National Cemetery of Arizona, on September 9th, 2019 at 9:30 AM.
The service was officiated by Captain Mark Merritt of the Salvation Army Sun Cities Valley Corp. The Rifle Honor Guard
was provided by the POW MIA KIA Honor Guard, bugle taps by Navy NOSC HM1 Jessica Hensley and the flag presentation ceremony
was conducted by the Navy NOSC Senior Chief Gary Ward and EO1 Alana Siegwald. An additional presentation was provided by
World War 2 Navy Veteran Basco.
Additional presentations were provided by Harold's Sisters, Jan Harding and Beverly Henson, and Harold's best
friend, Michael Phillips.
Our Perch Base Commander, Howard Doyle presented the Eternal Patrol Certificate and the bell
was tolled by our Chief of the Boat, Carl Miner.

Harold Henry Weber, 66, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on August 24, 2019 peacefully in his sleep.
A Military Honors service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Road,
Phoenix, Arizona on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 9:30 am.
Harold was born in Portland, Oregon on January 6, 1952. He graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School in 1970.
Harold served in the US Navy from January 17, 1973 to June 30, 1993 earning his highest rank as Chief Petty Officer.
He was a proud veteran and traveled the world while stationed in Germany. Over the years his travels took him to many
European countries, all 50 states and several classified locations.
After his retirement from the US Navy, Harold worked as an Electronic Technician and Trainer for Intel, Raytheon, and
Texas Instruments and as an Over-the-Road Truck Driver/Owner Operator for Swift Transportation.
Harold was married to Julia Christian Rudnik Weber for 15 years prior to her passing on December 6, 1995. He then
was married to OD'Esser Feen Booker McClure French Weber for 15 years prior to her passing on October 16, 2009.
A few of Harold's greatest personal accomplishments included solo hiking the Olympic Peninsula for 14 days, the Pacific
Crest Trail for 9 days, and the Appalachian Trail for 14 days - he loved being immersed in the beauty of the outdoors.
His hobbies included trekking, trap shooting, gardening, writing, and "just making things."
Harold is survived by his two sisters Janet Marie Weber Harding and Beverly Jean Weber Henson, his best friend Frank Phillips,
Nephews Jeffrey David Harding, Trenton Ryan Anderson, John Burton Weber, and Justin Troy Weber, his niece Jodi Anne Remensperger,
other family members and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Richard Weber and Vivian Evelyn Vercler Weber, his two wives Julia Christian Rudnick Weber
and OD'Esser Feen Booker McClure French Weber, his one brother Clyde Burton Weber, and nephew Richard Lee Henson.
In Harold's "own words" two of his Principles of Life include:
Living: We all die. Some sooner, some later in life. God decides for us. The real question is "how we decide to live our
life each day."
Death: I am not afraid of death, only the process.
The family of Harold Weber wishes to thank the medical staff at Boswell Banner Hospital, Davita Dialysis at Palmbrook,
and Hospice of the Valley in Surprise, AZ who took outstanding care of him during the past few years through many medical
complications and challenges.
