USS Phoenix
Park Site Dedication

Perch Base members displayed the USS Phoenix (SSN-702) float at the USS Phoenix Cold War Monument Park Site Dedication at the Steele Indian School Park on March 22, 2016.
The USS Phoenix sail, diving planes and rudder will be located just north of the Arizona State Veterans Home at the park.

The Keynote Address was given by Phoenix resident Rear Admiral Yancy B. Lindsey, U.S. Navy; Commandant, Naval District Washington, Washington Navy Yard, D.C. He was accompanied during the ribbon cutting by (L to R) Essay Winner Jacob Eaton, 8th Grade, Explorer Middle School, Essay Winner Nikita Joyner, 8th Grade, Vista Verde Middle School, Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services Director Wanda Wright, Col, USAF (ret), and Phoenix Councilwoman Laura Pastor.
